Please Worship With Us! As Christians our faith is strengthened by worshiping with each other. We hope to see you in church every Sunday. Also, please remember that you need to worship a minimum of (2) two Weekend services each month to maintain your member tuition rate. Be aware that midweek services do not count as one of the required attendance

Emergency Notification - Hopefully, you recently received a an emergency card, compliments of an emergency training program grant funded through the Iroquois-Kankakee Regional Office of Education. Once you receive your card you should add the phone number of the person responsible for notifying you of an emergency (the list of names is found in back of PTL booklet) – this should be the same person who called you Wednesday night of the trial run. Please notify us if you did not receive the card(s) so that we can make sure you are on our list and that you have the information you need.

Notice Regarding Picture Retakes

We have a school picture retake date of Monday, November 17, 2008. Lifetouch Photography will set up here in the gym early in the morning that day. If you desire a retake, please obtain the order form from your classroom teacher or from the school office.

Students will not be singing this Sunday as originally scheduled due to moving up our December date to sing – to December 3 rd . I apologize for any confusion!

4-H Notice: The Prairie Champions are having a 4-H meeting on November 16, 2008. This is our club's award night and all parents and 4-H members must come. We will be enrolling in projects for the year, so make your decision before the meeting. It will be held at St. John's at 6:00 p.m. We are going to have a great time! One more thing —any 4-Hers who picked up a shoe box (and those who didn't but would still like to participate in Operations Christmas Child) need to bring their filled boxes to the Nov 16th meeting. Don't forget to include your check for $7.00 to cover the postage expenses. Also, Toys for Tots donations will be accepted at this meeting as well. Questions? Call Barb.

Accreditation Training Date Set! If you were kind enough to say yes to serving on the Steering Committee or a subcommittee, a training session led by Glenn Goeres, from the Central Illinois District, will conduct training on Wednesday, January 14 th beginning at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. All are encouraged to attend. Please mark your calendar.

Girl's Basketball News – Coach Cowan's Notes… The J.V Lady Eagles participated in the 7 th grade LIC this past weekend at Donovan. The opening game was against Cissna Park . We started out very well and held a 8-4 lead. This however was the only lead we would ever have as the Eagles lost 23-30. The girls were back the next day to play the host Donovan team. The girls secured an easy victory 39-2. Two day tournament totals were Andrea 35 pts, Kennedy 11 pts, Rayann 7 pts, Billie 6 pts, and Anna 3 pts. Others that helped defensively were Shelby Spitz, Jessica, Maggie, and Haley.

The Lady Eagles varsity flew into the county tournament to lock horns with the Tri-Point Raiders Tuesday night. The game plan for the evening was to lay back and that's exactly what we did. Amazingly enough, we still hauled in 48 rebounds and won 42-18. Andrea led the team with 15 pts and 3 stls. Kandace added 10 pts and 5 stls Kayla 9 pts and 11 rebs, Kortnie 6 assts and 6 rebs, Hannah 11 rebs, Kennedy 5 rebs, Rachel 4 pts and 6 rebs, and Alex 1 reb, Billie 2 rebs, and Anna played good defense.

The Eagles were back to the county tournament on Wednesday night to take on the Raiders of Iroquois West. We had something to prove this night since we only beat the Raiders by eight points the first time we played. The girls didn't look very sharp at first as we made silly mistakes. The second half was smooth as butter as we ran away with the game 42-23. Kortnie led the way with 15 pts and 8 stls. Andrea added 10 pts and 5 stls, Kayla 9 pts and 9 rebs, Kandace 6 pts and 5 stls, Hannah 4 pts and 3 rebs, and Kennedy 2 stls. Rachel, Billie, and Anna had 1 rebound each. The championship is Thursday Nov. 13 th at 7:15 at Clifton . Let's show our church and school spirit and pack this gym. GO EAGLES!!!!!

Boy's Basketball News—Coach Sandmann's Notes... Our basketball team began their season with a trip to Thomasboro. Although they spent the morning looking up to the much taller Thomasboro “Indians” there were some good things that came out of their first game. Our Eagles were led by Dalton Cowan with 14 pts., 11 reb, 1 assist & 3 steals; Jacob Lessman had 5 pts., 3 reb., 1 assist & 1 steal; Slater Scheurich 5 pts., 3 reb., 1 assist & 2 steals; Matthew Lord 1 pt., & 6 reb., Shane Hewerdine 1 pt., & 1 steal and Luke Daugherty 1 reb. Following the trip to Thomasboro our team returned home to take on the Donovan “Wildcats” with much different results. The Eagles displayed solid defense and discovered their shooting touch as well. Once again Dalton C. led the way with 17 pts., 14 reb., 1 assist, 7 stls.;. However, make no mistake it was a team effort as Jacob L. contributed 13 pts., 1 reb., 3 assists, 6 stls.; Slater S. 8 reb., 1 assist, 10 stls.; Thomas B. 9 pts., 4 reb., 3 assists, 1 stl.; Shane H. turned a strong defensive effort. The Eagles defeated the Bobcats 45-7.

Our JV team increased their scoring but fell short to the Donovan “Bobcats” 28-17. Stephen Fruhling led the way in scoring with 8 pts., 3 reb., 1 stl.; James L. contributed 5 pts., 10 reb., 2 assists, 11 stls.; Dominick R. 2 pts., 1 reb., 1 assist, 5 stls; Jonathon R. 3 reb., 1 assist, 3 stls.; Braydon D. 4 reb., 1 assist, 4 stls.; Nick H. 3 reb. & 1 stl.
