At St. John’s Lutheran School in Buckley, Illinois, we believe learning is about more than textbooks and tests — it’s about helping children grow in faith, knowledge, and character. Our Christ-centered classrooms provide a safe, caring environment where every child is known and encouraged to thrive. With dedicated teachers, strong academics, and a close-knit school family, we partner with parents to guide students as they discover their God-given gifts. At St. John’s, we’re not just a school — we’re a community where children are prepared for bright futures and lifelong faith.
The members of St. John's Lutheran Church, Board of Parish Education, pastor, principal, faculty, and staff extend a Christian welcome to you as you join our family. We are happy to have you as part of the St. John’s family.
As part of our commitment to you and your family, it is our promise to God and you that we will operate St. John's Lutheran School in a God-pleasing manner. We will provide the best education possible for the youth of our communities. We will continue to develop and maintain high educational standards at all times, and to encourage, guide, and direct each individual child to the maximum of his or her God-given potential.
Parents are welcome to ask questions regarding the school and church, and are invited and encouraged to make arrangements with the school office to visit the school and classes of their children. Please call the school office in advance to make the necessary arrangements.

St. John’s Lutheran School exists to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to assist families in
following our Lord's commands to provide sound Christian training for children.
"...Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to
such as these.” Mark 10:14
"And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach
them diligently to your children...” Deuteronomy 6:6-7
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it...” Proverbs 22:6
